PANDORA receives HRH Prince Henrik's Medal of Honour

PANDORA RECEIVES HRH PRINCE HENRIK'S MEDAL OF HONOUR

PANDORA directors Karin and Brook Adcock have been awarded the Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour – giving them real recognition for the work they have done to establish and market PANDORA jewellery in Australia and New Zealand.

Since Karin and Brook launched PANDORA in Australia in October, the company has grown significantly. In its first year, the company had just two employees and was stocked in 40 stores across Australia. Today, PANDORA employs over 175 people and 690 retailers sell PANDORA jewellery in Australia and New Zealand.

Both directors brought skills to sustain the company through a period of stellar growth: Karin’s sales and marketing knowledge and her flair for business created firm foundations for a strong brand presence in Australia, while Brook brought IT and financial nous to the organisation.

In its second year, PANDORA quadrupled its turnover and it has achieved well over 100 per cent growth in the subsequent years. Brand awareness was non-existent in 2004, and in 2009 PANDORA achieved a prompted brand awareness of 54%. PANDORA is now one of the most recognised jewellery brands in the region. Additionally, the Australian operation stands out in PANDORA’s global picture, accounting for 21% of global sales and Australia sits just behind in the USA as the second largest market.

The Medal of Honour was presented by the Danish Ambassador, Mrs Susanne Shine on 11th June 2009 on behalf of HRH Prince Henrik of Denmark at the Sydney Opera House Utzon Room. The event was attended by VIP guests from Australia’s most influential fashion titles, PANDORA’s key business partners and a large representation from the PANDORA team.

Life has its moments… Make them unforgettable.

The Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour is awarded in recognition of an outstanding effort in promoting and marketing Danish products and services abroad.

The decision on awarding the Diploma and Medal is made by a judging committee chaired by His Royal Highness, Prince Henrik, four representatives appointed by the Executive Committee of the Danish Export Association, and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Danish Export Association’s mission is to encourage trade between Danish and foreign companies and to provide a platform on which quality-conscious Danish manufacturers and service providers can meet with their foreign customers and partners.
