Get behind our campaign to support Victoria's bushfire victims
A fundraising campaign
PANDORA has announced that it will donate 15% of the retail sales of its gold and silver Angel beads to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal during 2009.
The fundraising campaign, called the PANDORA Bushfire Angel Appeal, started in February and will continue until the end of the year.
PANDORA kicked of its fundraising efforts with a $100,000 donation to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
The silver Angel bead is in the top three of PANDORA's highest selling items. PANDORA hopes to generate around $400,000 during 2009 from bead sales to give towards the Appeal.
The silver Angel bead retails for $30 and the gold Angel bead for $491. Angel beads are available at PANDORA flagship and concept stores and through the company's network of over 630 retailers.
All money raised to the 17th April has been donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal - over $181,000. From this date, due to the closure of collections by the Red Cross for the bushfire victims, PANDORA continued the Bushfire Angel Appeal, donating all proceeds from gold and silver angel beads to The Salvation Army. To the 30 June 2009, PANDORA is delighted to announce that $88,938.63 has been collected to give to The Salvation Army. On top of this a number of PANDORA's retailers joined the company in collecting for this worthy cause and have given additional funds to the appeal. The work continues and PANDORA will run the appeal until the end of the year.
Karin Adcock, CEO of PANDORA said, "We were deeply saddened by the bush fires in
Victoria. The loss of life is unthinkable and is sure to take a huge toll on rural Victorian
communities over many years. More immediately, over 5,000 people have lost their homes
and like many Australians, we felt compelled to help."
She added, "PANDORA has started the ball rolling with a $100,000 donation to the Appeal
and now we ask the public to get behind our Bushfire Angel Appeal and help us to keep
giving during 2009 when people who have been effected by this tragedy will most need our
help."
